THE VALUE OF MID SOUTH SIGN ASSOCIATION
- MSSA offers you the best avenue at an affordable price for current knowledge in the sign industry.
- The purpose of “The Steve Metheny Scholarship Foundation” is to provide higher education scholarships to promote excellence in the sign industry by encouraging the young, bright, and talented to further their education. In 2007, sixty-six $1,500 scholarships were given and an additional $105,000 was raised for future scholarships.
- The one most common problem all members share is finding good qualified employees. To help solve this problem, MSSA implemented the “Career Development Program” to inform younger generations of career opportunities available in the sign industry.
- Educational conferences are held twice a year with the host company, being in the sign industry, allowing members to tour their facility. Seminars are conducted by experienced sign professionals.
- An annual convention is held featuring seminars, tradeshow exhibits, receptions, business meeting / luncheon, and an entertaining Saturday evening function.
- A website presenting members with current information and a membership list is available.
- A library of reference materials available to our members.
- The MSSA membership directory provides a listing of association members including detailed information on the products, services and equipment of each member.
- Mid South Messenger is mailed every other month and is available on our website along with additional information communicated through emails.
- Networking opportunities give members the chance to share ideas and solutions to today’s business problems
- Strong friendships and business contacts are formed through MSSA activities
- Advice in dealing with city code issues.
- “Weekly Safety Meeting” reports are e-mailed monthly to sign companies.
- In 2005 and 2006, MSSA created and managed a hurricane relief fund for members and non-members who were affected by hurricane damage.
