'May The Force Be With You' as you play the Fighting Joe Golf Course named after General Wheeler. Minutes from the Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa, it will challenge players of all levels from amateur to PGA pro. Box lunches will be provided. Golf awards will be presented during exhibit hours Friday. MUSCLE SHOALS MUSIC TOUR

Explore Alabama's rich music history by visiting 3614 Jackson Highway Recording Studio and The Alabama Music Hall of Fame. 3614 Jackson Highway Recording Studio is the original site of the Muscle Shoals Sound Studios. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the home of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section also known as the "Swampers". The Alabama Music Hall of Fame has it all: the blues, rock and roll, country, gospel and jazz, and features Alabamians who changed the course of music history. Get down with exhibits from local recording studios famous for cranking out hit after hit for music greats like The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and Percy Sledge. MSSA EARLY BIRD RECEPTION

Time to break out those bell bottoms and tie-dyed t-shirts. Get out your pet rock and your mood ring. It's time to relive the groovy 1970s. MSSA President and The Man, David Watson requests the honor of your presence during this year’s welcome reception. Munchies will include fondue, Jiffy Pop Popcorn and Tang. Open to registrants
MSSA SCHOLARSHIP HOLD’EM POKER CHALLENGE / RAFFLE TICKETS

Jive Talkin’ will occur during MSSA’s third Hold’em Poker Challenge. Funds raised will benefit the Steve Metheny Scholarship fund which helps MSSA’s kids go to college. This event will be a “shootout” format with the winners from each individual table moving forward to the final table and the prize round. The winner from each table will be awarded the poker chip set from that table provided by Arlon with graphics provided by Miratec Systems. In addition to the poker chip sets, the winners in the final round will receive merchandise prizes for First, Second, and Third Place. Your participation could help generate enough money for at least two scholarships… Upon Request, all registered players will receive a copy of the Hold’em Poker Rules. Players must be pre-registered for the convention. Please see registration form - Cost $75.
Only 100 tickets are available for the Scholarship Raffle which raises additional funds for the Steve Metheny Scholarship Foundation. The raffle drawing will be held after MSSA’s Membership Luncheon during auction on Saturday. The owner of every tenth ticket pulled will receive their $100 back until the 100th ticket pulled, which will be worth $2,000! At the conclusion of the raffle, one last ticket will be drawn from all “non-winning” tickets for a consolation prize of $300.

Boogie down as cool auction items are offered during the silent auction. Scholarship funds are obtained through the items sold during both auctions. One advantage awarded to MSSA members, their employees and the entrepreneurs of the future is the opportunity for achievement of higher education. Beginning at 5:00 pm, silent auction items will be available for your inspection and bidding. Bidding will continue until 7:00 pm, resume Saturday morning 9:00 am and close promptly at 11:30am. MSSA Members “Come Together” as they create “Memories” for employees or dependant children of employees of MSSA member firms by providing higher education financial awards. Sixty-Seven $1,500 scholarships were awarded in 2007. Attendees are responsible for donating and bidding on items for auction.
